# Point Of Sale
# 2004
The brief was to design a new point of sale to replace the box which always seems to be out of sight, down on the bottom of the shop shelf. I wanted to make the design reflect their humorous advertising. They always have a strap line that has a reference to the product, i.e. "SMOKE bomb" or "back ROLL". With this in mind I wanted the humor of the point of sale "dispenser" to come through by making it into a "toilet ROLL". I had to think about the cost involved so decided to make it out of cheap plastics with metal fixtures. I figured that each one of the dispensers would only be a matter of pence to create, but then the outlet would only need one of each colour. These would be replenished with new rolls when the product runs out and this in turn would cut down the waste from the empty boxes. The plasticsheath that the pack would come in would provide a new edge to the product, providing a seal of quality and also a water proof protection sheath that would be kept for the duration of the product rather than discarded immediately.
